Volunteer
Library volunteers are key to the success of the Library. In 2009 volunteers contributed 5859 hours of their time. Phyllis Genest is the wonderful Friend in charge of recruiting, training, and coordinating the volunteers who staff the circulation desk and provide many other services including:
- Repairing books
- Providing needed maintenance to the library and fountain area
- Shelving books
- Teaching literacy, computer classes and ESL
- Helping with children's programs
- Assisting the library staff in many other ways, as needed
If you would like to contribute your time and talents to the community, volunteering at the library is a fun and friendly way to do it. It is a great way to meet new people and make new friends.
For more information, call Phyllis Genest at 935-2109, Application forms can be printed here or obtained at the library. We look forward to seeing you at the library.
